Family Fun On A Budget
Debt-Meltdown, the debt counseling, debt payoff and debt consolidation specialist, is always trying the help with new tips and advice on saving money. Whether it’s by shopping smarter, creating a budget, saving on electricity, or like in this article, spending quality time with your family without spending too much money. Times are hard and we all need to adapt. Here’s a list of ideas that can work for all your family as well as your wallet.
Arts and crafts projects. Get together with your kids and let the creative juices flow. Throughout the week collect yogurt lids, egg cartons, macaroni, anything you can get your hands on that can translate into an art project. Use color, glue, glitter and a lot of creativity. It’ll give you a chance to bond with your kids and won’t cost much.
Join the library. You can all enjoy reading tons of books and even rent movies for free. You’ll constantly have choices and never get bores. These days the library also offers internet time and even story time for kids.
Public swimming pool or the beach. If you live in hot weather or during the summer, you can take advantage of both these public places. Pack up a little picnic, bring out the beach ball, towels and you’re all set for a day of family fun.
The park. This place is great too. Most parks have swings, bike trails, basketball courts and more. Take the kids out for some outdoor fun.
Buy a membership at the local museum. You’ll have access for the whole year and will not pay much for it. There your kids can expect educational programs, arts and crafts time, movies, and so much more. It’s educational and fun and won’t break the bank.
Get cooking. Gather everyone in the kitchen and have them help. One can stir, the other can wash the vegetables while the other sprinkles the spices. It’s a lot of fun and you won’t have to go to the restaurant to eat out. Plus, kids are more likely to eat without the fuss.
We hope these little tips will help you and your family have fun on a budget. If you need help with overwhelming or piling up debts, please give Debt-Meltdown a call.
