Simplifying Your Finances
Clutter is all around us from junk mail in your actual mailbox to junk mail online to bills and even having to pay different debt with different creditors. It seems like there’s paperwork involved in everything we do and finding a specific bill or financial statement is like finding a needle in a haystack. Debt Meltdown, a debt consolidation service, has put together a list of ways to simplify your financial life.
For the mail you get at home, try to deal with it on the day you receive it. If it’s a bill, try to pay it right away or at least file it right away so you can keep track of things.
Try to go paperless and automate your bills. Pay your bills online. Set up accounts for utilities, cable, car payment, mortgage, credit cards and anything else you have to pay on a monthly basis. You’ll have much less paperwork to deal with and your records will always be online in case you need to retrieve them. Not too mention the fact that going paperless is better for the environment.
Automate your investment. Same idea as the above tip. If you have investments that you do pretty regularly, just automate it and forget it.
Consolidate your debt. Instead of dealing with a lot of different creditors, and paying each one of them at different times you can consolidate your debt into one low monthly payment. It’ll be easier to track and you’re less likely to forget to pay. Not to mention, less paperwork and headaches. Debt Meltdown can help you with debt consolidation, debt pay off and even debt counseling. Just apply online and fill out our pre-qualification form to get started.
Use personal-finance software. It makes tracking your financial transaction much easier. You can download banking, credit card or investment transactions into the software, and set up a budget. You can even find some free software that do the same job.
Use a debit card. That way you’ll be able to track all your transactions. Most banks categories it by month so you can look back and see where you spent your money. You can also access your finances from any computer, all you have to do is get online and put in your password.
